This course provides an overview of the digital workflow in implant dentistry, focusing on the use of digital technology to improve the accuracy and efficiency of implant placement. The course covers key elements such as data capture, virtual planning, surgical guide creation, implant placement and abutment/restoration design. Benefits of a digital workflow, including increased accuracy, minimized chair time, improved patient comfort, and enhanced aesthetics, are discussed. The course also reviews various software and hardware options for each step in the digital workflow.
Objectives:Â
- Define the key elements and benefits of a digital workflow in implant dentistryÂ
- Identify and describe the different types of software and hardware used in each stage of the digital workflow
- Understand how to integrate digital tools into an implant dentistry practice to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Learn how to gather and assess accurate data
Dr. Bruening studied Biochemistry and Food Science at Lindenwood University and the University of Missouri. He graduated from UMKC School of Dentistry in 2014 and currently works with his wife Carissa Bruening, a general dentist in Chesterfield, MO. His areas of interest are implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, digital dentistry with emphasis on scanning, designing and 3d printing. When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his kids, hiking, biking, cooking, roasting coffee, brewing beer, and playing golf.
Dr. Bruening is passionate about blending digital technology with patient-focused dentistry. This course explores how 3D imaging, digital workflows, and guided surgery can streamline implant treatment, improving efficiency, accuracy, and patient outcomes.
